At go!trekking, we’re passionate about bringing people together through thrilling outdoor activities and meaningful local collaborations. This month, we’re reflecting on some of our favourite hunting adventures and community-building moments that make Ireland’s west coast so special. From galloping through the countryside to building walls on the beach, there’s always something exciting happening with our trekking community!
Featured Activity: Hunting with Local Partners
Last season, we had an incredible time hunting with our special horses alongside the Grallagh, Oliver Walsh’s Flowerhill, and the North Galway at Belclare, thanks to the Shakerag Hunt from Georgia. A huge shoutout to Tom McNamara for providing his fantastic hunting horses, ensuring our riders had an unforgettable experience. The crisp autumn air, vibrant foliage, and the thrill of the chase made for a perfect day in the Irish countryside. As we shared on our Facebook page, we’re already gearing up for more hunts this season—join us for the North Galways tomorrow or the North Mayos next Sunday, starting from the Westport Woods Hotel. We’ll also be building walls on the beach that afternoon, and we’d love for you to lend a hand!
Community Spotlight: Building Walls, Building Bonds
Our beach wall-building event at Westport is more than just a practical task—it’s a chance to connect with fellow trekkers and locals. These walls help protect our beautiful coastline while fostering a sense of camaraderie. Last year, we saw trekkers of all ages come together, sharing stories and laughter as we worked. It’s moments like these that remind us why we love what we do. Want to get involved? Keep an eye on our social media for upcoming community projects!
